SHiba Inu (SHIB) started to attract attention in 2021 when Vitalik Buterin, founder of Ethereum, sold 50 trillion SHIB and donated the proceeds to a COVID-19 relief fund in India. 

After that, the price of Shiba Inu (SHIB) soared by 85 million percent in a year and reached ATH on October 28, 2021.  

However, after a huge surge in 2021, the SHIB price saw a sharp decline in 2022 and 2023 in line with the bearish conditions in the crypto market as a whole. 

Shiba Inu had fallen almost 90% from its peak. Even though it bounced back at the end of 2024 with an increase of around 60% in a month, this meme coin stagnated again in early 2025 due to pressure from weakening market conditions.

Can Shiba Inu (SHIB) Price Reach $1?

Based on analysis, the possibility of Shiba Inu (SHIB) price reaching $1 is very small because huge amount of supply. Currently, the total supply of SHIB reaches 1 quadrillion tokens, with a circulating supply of approx 589 trillion SHIB. 

If the price of SHIB reaches $1, then the market capitalization of Shiba Inu will be $589 trillion, an amount that even exceeds the total global Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of around $100 trillion.

In comparison, the highest market capitalization for the entire crypto market at its peak in 2021 was only approx $3 trillion. This makes the $1 price target seem almost impossible unless there is a major reduction in token supply.

It is clear that the Shiba Inu (SHIB) price target of reaching $1 is very difficult to achieve because the market capitalization is too large for the current size of the crypto market.

Even though the $1 price target seems difficult, there are several factors that could increase the price of Shiba Inu (SHIB), namely as follows.

1. Combustion Mechanism (Burning)

So far, more than 410 trillion SHIB was burned (ca 41% of total supply). Most of these burnings were carried out by Vitalik Buterin in 2021. 

If the number of tokens burned increases, the supply of SHIB will decrease and could increase the price of Shiba Inu (SHIB) due to the law of supply and demand.

2. Shibarium dan Ekosistem Shiba Inu

Shibarium is a Layer-2 solution on the Ethereum network designed to increase transaction speed and reduce gas fees. The main features of Shibarium that can have a positive impact on the price of Shiba Inu (SHIB) are as follows.

a. Off-chain processing: Process transactions outside the Ethereum main network so gas fees are cheaper.

b. Rollups: Combine multiple transactions into one batch to speed up and reduce transaction costs.

c. Burn token SHIB: A portion of transaction fees on Shibarium will be used to purchase and burn SHIB tokens, potentially increasing the value of the token in the long term.

3. Ecosystem Development

The SHIB development team continues to innovate by creating additional utilities such as the following.

If the price of Shiba Inu (SHIB) rises the $0.50, market capitalization will touch $294.5 trillion, which still seems impossible given the current size of the crypto market.

However, targets $0.01 perhaps more realistic although still difficult to achieve. If Shibarium manages to increase the token burn rate and SHIB demand increases, the price of $0.01 could be a reasonable target in the next few years.

For now, the Shiba Inu (SHIB) price prediction for 2025 could reach approx $0.00005384 in August 2025. While in 2030, SHIB could possibly reach $0.0001971, or up approx 59% from current prices.
