"Rapidly developing AI technology is now capable of processing large amounts of data and converting it into referenceable treatment plans, enabling evidence-based medical practice to thrive in the AI ​​era," he said.

Traditional medical evidence has long been the foundation of modern medical decision-making, combining the best research evidence, clinical judgment, and patient considerations.

However, traditional methods have limitations, such as delayed information, fragmented evidence, and minimal individual consideration for each patient.

In that context, i-EBM is not a replacement for traditional EBM, but rather a natural evolution that combines machine intelligence with human expertise.

This system builds a unified digital foundation through the integration of high-quality scientific evidence, biomedical knowledge systems, and real-world data from multiple sources, including electronic medical records and medical images.

With the help of AI, doctors can get more precise diagnostic and treatment advice.

"In its early stages, i-EBM offered standardized plans that doctors could use as a reference. In theory, EBM takes into account a wealth of information, but in practice, it's difficult for clinicians to navigate, organize, and analyze all that data," Ge added.

The advantage of i-EBM lies in AI's ability to build deep connections between scientific research data, medical records, medical images, and environmental information, which were previously difficult to achieve manually.

Furthermore, AI can reduce repetitive work. Processes that used to take months can now be completed in hours or even minutes.
