Since February 28, 2026, the Strait of Hormuz has been almost closed to tanker ships. The world lost one of its most important oil routes, and not long after, tokens with an oil theme began appearing on Solana.

One of them is WOSE Coin, which claims to be World Oil Supply Exchange. The most frequently asked question is of course whether WOSE is legit or not.

This article dissects the project's claims, market data recorded on October 7, 2026, and the things that cannot yet be verified.

Key Takeaways

  • WOSE claims to be backed by world oil reserves, but there is no evidence of reserves, team, or audit.
  • The contract address on its official site differs from the contract address in the recorded market data.
  • The token was about 22 hours old when checked, so its historical data is very short.

What Is WOSE Coin and World Oil Supply Exchange?

Project Claims

According to its official site, wose.live, WOSE tokenizes oil exchange trading on-chain with support from oil reserves from around the world. The goal is to keep supply moving without passing through the Strait of Hormuz and to lower oil prices. The token supply is stated as 1,000,000,000.

The site also displays a countdown to a "global announcement" on October 27, 2026. The contents of the announcement are not explained. Its roadmap consists of three phases: Catalyst, Announcement, and Liquidity. The site footer states that its content is not financial advice.

Context: Strait of Hormuz Crisis

The background used by WOSE is indeed real. According to Al Jazeera, the strait has been mostly blocked for more than seven months since the US and Israeli attacks on Iran. Under normal conditions, about one-fifth of the world's oil and gas passes through it.

On October 4, 2026, Reuters reported that Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf stated the strait will not be opened until seven Iranian conditions, which are based on the Islamabad Memorandum, are met.

This means the closure is conditional. The WOSE site instead calls it "permanently closed," and that claim does not match the report.

WOSE Market Data as of October 7, 2026

WOSE token harga.png

The following figures are from token market data on October 7, 2026, at around 11:49 WIB, including from the CoinMarketCap DEX page:

  • Price: around USD 0.0041 (USD 0.004132 and USD 0.00416266 in two different captures).
  • Market cap/FDV: USD 4.1 million to USD 4.16 million, equal to its highest level.
  • Holders: 4,044.
  • 24-hour volume: USD 212.5 thousand to USD 287 thousand.
  • Liquidity: USD 91.21 thousand (772.19 SOL) to USD 183.8 thousand, depending on how each platform calculates it.
  • 24-hour transactions: 3,928 buys worth USD 192 thousand and 2,603 sells worth USD 95.3 thousand.
  • Dev holdings: recorded at 0.0%. Security Scan shows "Normal" status.

The chart rose gradually from around USD 0.0035 to USD 0.0041 in about 15 hours. Because the token is only about 22 hours old, there is not yet enough price history to read as a trend.

Is WOSE Coin Legit? Things That Need to Be Checked

As of this article being written, there is no evidence that WOSE is a scam. However, many important things cannot yet be verified, so the question "WOSE coin legit" cannot be answered with confidence.

Two Different Contract Addresses

This is the most striking finding. The official site and its buy links (the Coinbase price page and FOMO) use the address WoSEAj2AePRdEV4DhDwGeDCDZuEjigZnc5hDBNGYYrT.

Meanwhile, the market data used in this article comes from the contract HVrMeoahXq3P8WRdyfKmCBmrWYVnE9Pu2r3fZy7pump, a Pump.fun token.

Two different addresses with the same name mean there are two different tokens or one of them is a copy. This article cannot yet determine which is real, so check the address directly on official sources before trading.

Oil Reserves Without Evidence

WOSE claims to be "backed by world oil reserves," but there is no reserve report, custodian name, or independent auditor. The claim that the token can increase supply and lower oil prices is also not accompanied by a clear mechanism. Physical oil does not increase just because a token exists.

Team and Audit Not Visible

The site only contains a tagline, countdown, and buy link. There are no team names, whitepaper, contract audit, or official contact.

The "Normal" status on Security Scan is an automated scan, not a security audit. Dev holdings of 0.0% also do not automatically mean it is safe, because the distribution of large holders still needs to be checked.

Similar Name to Another Token

There is another project with a similar theme, namely World Strategic Oil Supply (WSOS) on Solana, which claims 1.3 million barrels of oil. According to Phemex Academy, WSOS's oil claim has no independent verification.

WOSE and WSOS are two different projects, but their names are easy to confuse, so check the ticker and contract.

Checklist Before Buying a New Token

  • Make sure the contract address is the same on the official site, official accounts, and market data pages.
  • Look for team names, audits, and evidence for the claims made.
  • Pay attention to token age and liquidity, because new tokens can move sharply within hours.
  • Do not put in funds you are not prepared to lose.

Conclusion

WOSE Coin cannot yet be called a scam, but it cannot yet be called legit either. Its oil reserve claims lack evidence, its team is not visible, and two different contract addresses make the risk high.

Because the token is only about 22 hours old, its price and volume can change drastically. This article is educational and not investment advice.
