Is WAIF Coin Legit_ Check World AI Fund and Token Risk.png

Its official announcement is not scheduled until October 10, 2026, but WAIF coin is already trading on the Solana network. On CoinMarketCap DEX, this token, which was 17 hours old when checked, was recorded with an FDV of US$30.3 million.

Meanwhile, the trumpcoin.ai website displays a countdown and a photo of Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and Sam Altman standing side by side, as if endorsing World AI Fund. Is that endorsement real, and is WAIF legit? Let's check one by one.

Key Takeaways

  • The claim of being "verified by Trump, Musk, and Altman" appears only on the trumpcoin.ai website and has not been confirmed by credible sources.
  • The contract address on the website differs from the token on CoinMarketCap DEX, and there are several other contracts named WAIF.
  • This 17-hour-old token carries very high risk. This article is not investment advice.

What Is World AI Fund (WAIF Coin)?

World AI Fund, or WAIF, introduces itself on trumpcoin.ai as an official AI fund labeled "Verified by Donald J Trump, Elon Musk, and Sam Altman." Its announcement is promised for October 10.

The site's content is extremely minimal. There is only a countdown, two buy buttons, and a contract address. There are no team names, whitepaper, roadmap, or tokenomics.

There are two other details in its page code. The metadata describes World AI Fund as a concept, and the main image's alt text states that the scene with the three figures is fictional.

On the market side, the WAIF token contract address on CoinMarketCap DEX ends in "pump." That suffix is common for tokens created on Pump.fun, a memecoin launch platform on Solana.

WAIF Token Market Data on CoinMarketCap DEX

Here is the data shown on CoinMarketCap DEX on October 6, 2026:

  • Price: US$0.03037
  • FDV: US$30.3 million
  • Liquidity: US$504.6 thousand (marked with a padlock icon)
  • 24-hour volume: US$173.6 thousand
  • Token age: 17 hours
  • 24-hour price change: more than 99.9K%
  • Security Scan: Normal

A surge of thousands of percent is common for newly launched tokens, because the comparison price is very small. The figure does not prove healthy demand.

The 5-minute chart shows the price gradually rising from around US$0.0272 to US$0.0304 since the early hours of October 6. On the last candle, there were only 5 unique traders with a volume of about US$640. That is a sign the market is still thin.

The "Normal" label on the Security Scan is also only the result of an automated check. Even if the padlock indicates locked liquidity, that lock only prevents the liquidity pool from being withdrawn. Large holders can still sell their tokens.

Is WAIF Legit? Check Claims of Support from Trump, Musk, and Altman

Our research has not found statements from those three figures, or credible media coverage, linking them to World AI Fund.

As a comparison, when Trump endorsed the TRUMP memecoin in March 2025, that support came through a publicly viewable Truth Social post, according to FXStreet.

The relationship among the three figures is also complicated. Reuters reported in January 2025 that Musk doubted the funding for the Stargate project announced by Trump together with Altman, even though Musk is Altman's rival and was in a legal dispute with OpenAI. That is an old report, but a joint statement from all three about a crypto token would certainly be big news.

So, the "verified" label on that site cannot yet be used as a basis for judging World AI Fund as legit.

Is WAIF a Scam or Not? Red Flags in the Contract and Website

The most troubling finding is the contract address. The website lists a contract beginning with wAifunv..., while the token traded on CoinMarketCap DEX begins with QDh9... and ends in "pump." The two are not the same token.

The number does not stop at two, either. We found at least five different contract addresses with the name World AI Fund or WAIF across various aggregators:

  • Solana Compass records one contract with a market cap of about US$6.9 million.
  • MadeOnSol records two other contracts, one with a market cap of about US$72.9 million and another around US$71.6 million.

The figures differ greatly because the contracts are different and the recording times are not the same. From this, it is not yet clear which contract is official, or whether any is official.

There are other signs on the website. The word "verified" is misspelled at the bottom, and two buy buttons with different labels lead to the same URL, according to its page code.

Regarding the basic risk of Pump.fun tokens, The Defiant cites Solidus Labs that 98.6 percent of more than seven million Pump.fun tokens (January 2024–March 2025) collapsed into pump-and-dump schemes shortly after launch.

This figure measures liquidity collapse, not proof of fraud in each individual case, according to DeepStrike's analysis.

So, is this a WAIF scam? There is no proven evidence of fraud yet. But unconfirmed claims about public figures, inconsistent contracts, and a project with no clear team are a combination that demands high vigilance.

How to Check New Tokens Like WAIF Before Buying

  • Match the contract address. Compare the address on the website, official accounts, and market data apps before sending funds.
  • Check mint and freeze authority. MadeOnSol notes that both have been revoked for one WAIF contract, but that is not necessarily the contract you are looking at.
  • Look at holder distribution. Be wary if a handful of wallets control a large portion of the supply.
  • Read liquidity and volume. Do not focus only on the percentage price increase.
  • Look for official statements. Claims of support from famous figures are only credible if they come from their own channels.
  • Set a loss limit. Use funds you are prepared to lose for new tokens.

Conclusion

Whether WAIF coin is legit or a scam cannot be determined today. The claims of support from Trump, Musk, and Altman are unproven, the contract address on the website does not match the token being traded, and its data is only a dozen or so hours old.

The content of the October 10, 2026 announcement is still unknown. Until there is verifiable evidence, treat World AI Fund as a highly risky speculative token. This article is not investment advice.
