Trump’s Crypto Project, World Liberty Financial, will be Built on Aave and Ethereum

Bittime - The Trump family's crypto project, World Liberty Financial, will reportedly be built on the DeFi platform Aave and the Ethereum blockchain, with a primary focus on a decentralized credit account system.

World Liberty Financial Project Details

World Liberty Financial will feature a credit account system for borrowing and lending assets in a decentralized manner. In addition, governance token holders WLFI can participate in the management of these crypto projects, including voting on the addition of new lending markets or new blockchain integrations.

World Liberty Financial will have an easy to use UI to access WLFI as a “smart account” or as a brokerage platform. The project concept is reminiscent of the company Voyager Digital, which offered brokerage services before going bankrupt in 2022.

Trump's Role in the World Liberty Financial Project

Donald Trump is a central figure in this project, with the title "Chief Crypto Advocate." Trump's sons, Eric and Donald Trump Jr., are also touted as "Web3 Ambassadors" for the World Liberty Financial project. 

In addition to the Trump family, several other well-known figures are also involved in the project, including Steve Witkoff, Trump's longtime friend and renowned property developer, and his son, Zach Witkoff.

World Liberty Financial's legal team is led by Alex Golubitsky, who is also involved in crypto governance consulting firm MetaleX Pro. The firm revealed that it receives 1.3% of $ tokensWLFI that will come as part of the compensation.

Trump's Views on Crypto

The World Liberty Financial project shows Trump's changing views on crypto assets. Previously, Trump is known to be skeptical of digital assets and even mocked Bitcoin (BTC) as something “based on wishful thinking.” 

However, in his latest campaign, Trump promised to make the United States the crypto center of the world. The campaign is in line with the trend of the crypto industry already accounting for more than half of all corporate campaign spending in the 2024 US election cycle.
