In his X post last August 30, lookonchain reported that Vitalin made an additional transfer of 800 ETH to the same multisign wallet he sent the previous 3,000 ETH to. 

This scared the ETH community and people started writing things that didn't believe in X. Some users even said that he started dumping his properties to make a profit.

Vitalik is Not Selling ETH for Personal Gain

After this was brought to the attention of Vitalik, he responded by saying that since 2018, he has not sold ETH for personal gain. 

Instead, he makes all sales to support various Web3 projects within the Ethereum ecosystem or to broader charities.

Vitalik's Response Gets Lots of Support

Many people in the community supported Vitalik's response, believing that he had the right to sell ETH for personal gain as he has always supported the community and the entire crypto ecosystem.

Vitalik's response has calmed the community, but they remain concerned about the state of Ethereum consolidation. ETH traded at $2,521 and showed almost no movement, with Ethereum's daily trading volume down 16.18% from the previous day.
