After Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs started trading, attention is now turning to popular altcoins such as Litecoin, Solana, and XRP. Many predict that the Solana ETF could launch in late 2025.

The latest ETF filings began last Wednesday, January 15 with VanEck's proposal for an "Onchain Economy ETF." 

This ETF focuses on investing in digital companies and digital asset-related instruments, with at least 80% of its assets allocated to companies involved in digital transformation.

The following day, asset manager Canary Capital proposed revisions to its spot Litecoin ETF. The ETF approval process then begins after Nasdaq submits the necessary documents to the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission).

As the institution that has the authority to decide on ETF approval, the SEC is the main concern in this development.

Additionally, CoinShares Valkyrie also proposes a Digital Asset ETF that tracks the COINTEN index, which includes the top 10 digital assets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and XRP. 

The Fund will invest in products listed on major US, Canadian and European exchanges that meet certain liquidity requirements.

ProShares Proposes ETF Futures for Solana and XRP

ProShares, which previously had success with Bitcoin futures ETFs, is now proposing several ETF products for Solana and XRP. 

On Friday, they filed for ETF futures for XRP, including a doubly leveraged product (Ultra XRP ETF), as well as short XRP and Ultra Short XRP funds. 

They also pitched a similar product for Solana, which recently hit an all-time high, thanks to the popularity of Trump-related memecoins.
