Bitcoin Predicted to Reach a New All Time High (ATH) in 2025, Here's What Experts Say!

Bitcoin Becomes the Eighth Largest Asset After Gold

This number places Bitcoin as the seventh largest asset in the world, still below gold, which has a market capitalization of around $18.339 trillion (equivalent to IDR 300 quadrillion). 

This increase in Bitcoin's market cap cannot be separated from the role of institutions that adopt Bitcoin as a strategic corporate asset, as did MicroStrategy and Tesla.

Bitcoin as a Hedge

According to Tiger Research, in its analysis regarding the company's strategy for choosing Bitcoin as a hedge, it stated that Bitcoin has its own advantages compared to other conventional assets. 

“Investment instruments such as bonds, gold, and foreign exchange have been chosen by institutions for their ability to hedge and preserve value against risk during economic uncertainty,” the research team wrote Tiger Research.

The report also states that “Bitcoin has emerged as a strategic investment asset choice by offering an effective, inflation-resistant and profitable alternative to traditional assets such as bonds and gold.”

Along with that, Bitcoin is also rare with a total supply of 21 million coins circulating on the market. This adds to the uniqueness of BTC and strengthens its position as a hedge or hedge asset hedge. 

Bitcoin Price Predictions According to Experts

Leading crypto analyst Alex Becker stated that the $150,000 (Rp. 2,430,000,000) price target for Bitcoin is considered too low. He argues that at its current market capitalization, Bitcoin only represents about one-sixth of the market value of gold, so it still has significant room for growth. 

Becker projects that Bitcoin could reach a price between $250,000 (Rp. 4,050,000,000) to $400,000 (Rp. 6,480,000,000) in this market cycle, driven by increasing adoption and evolving market dynamics.

Factors Triggering Rising Bitcoin Prices

Regulatory changes in the United States also played a role in driving Bitcoin prices. Leading up to President Donald Trump's inauguration on January 20, 2025, there are plans to issue more than 100 executive orders focused on the digital asset industry, including policies related to crypto de-banking and accounting. 

The Trump administration plans to establish a Bitcoin strategic reserve and crypto council, signaling a shift from its previous regulatory stance. Additionally, the resignation of SEC Chairman Gary Gensler and the appointment of pro-crypto Paul Atkins as his replacement is expected to provide greater regulatory clarity and encourage institutional adoption.

Data on-chain shows that Bitcoin balances on crypto exchanges reached their lowest point in the last seven years. 

Crypto analyst Miles Deutscher notes that supply drops on crypto exchanges often correspond to sharp, parabolic price increases for those assets. This indicates a potential shortage of Bitcoin supply in the market, which could push the price higher.
