Ethereum ETF Form S-1 Proposal Updated and Awaiting SEC Approval
2024-07-11
Bittime - Form S-1 Ethereum ETF proposals from VanEck, BlackRock, Fidelity, Grayscale, 21Shares, and Franklin Templeton await SEC approval, with launch anticipated this summer after recent delays.
Ethereum ETF Form S-1 Proposal Updated
The development comes at a time when analysts had expected its launch this summer, although the SEC recently delayed its launch.
A planned launch in July was delayed because the SEC returned the application in late June with little advice.
This week, VanEck was the first to submit an S-1 amendment to financial regulators in an effort to determine a possible final approval date.
Last week, Bitwise released an amendment to its S-1 that includes a six-month waiver of up to $500 million.
In details of its initial investment, Franklin Templeton revealed that Franklin Resources Inc. purchased 4,000 shares at $25 each, for a total investment of $100,000.
VanEck Earned 2,929 ETH
It was reported that VanEck earned 2,929 ETH from the sale of the seed creation basket, while BlackRock purchased 3,031 ETH.
The two companies had previously reported initial capital investments of $100,000 and $10 million.
VanEck also announced its first $1.5 billion in annual fee waivers.
This is similar to Bitwise's $500 million six-month waiver and Franklin Templeton's $10 billion six-month waiver in previous filings.
Ethereum ETF applicants do not add new sponsorship fees.
Analysts Predict Ethereum ETF Launch
Now, BlackRock, Fidelity, Grayscale, 21Shares, Franklin Templeton, and VanEck, Ethereum ETF applicants, submitted their amendments.
In May, the SEC approved 19b-4 filings for eight potential issuers; however, the final S-1 application has been delayed, and SEC Chairman Gary Gensler requested a decision be made by summer.
Conclusion
Recent news about the Form S-1 Ethereum ETF proposal shows that many leading financial companies such as VanEck, BlackRock, Fidelity, Grayscale, 21Shares, and Franklin Templeton are trying hard to get SEC approval.
VanEck has acquired 2,929 ETH and offered relief, demonstrating their commitment to complying with SEC requirements.
With many big players in the market proposing changes, analysts predict that, pending a final SEC decision, approval and launch of an Ethereum ETF could occur this summer.
