Bitcoin and Ethereum Gain Ground Over the Week; Market Participants Keep an Eye on the Fed's Interest Rates
2026-09-10
Jakarta, September 10, 2026 – Crypto asset prices continue to show dynamic movements amid various global economic sentiments.
Based on CoinMarketCap data on the morning of September 10, 2026, Bitcoin was trading around US$78,033, down 1.09% over the past 24 hours, but still recorded a slight weekly gain of 0.99%. Meanwhile, Ethereum was trading around US$2,461, down 1.42% over the past 24 hours, but remained up 3.04% over the week.
Bittime, a registered Digital Financial Asset Trader (PAKD) supervised by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), views these movements as an indication that investors need to pay close attention to various sentiments that may affect crypto asset market conditions.
Investors Monitor The Fed Interest Rate Sentiment
Several macroeconomic developments have also become a focus for market participants, one of which is changing expectations for U.S. central bank interest rate policy following the latest employment data, which showed relatively strong economic conditions.
According to the official Federal Reserve website, the Fed is scheduled to hold its FOMC meeting on September 15-16, 2026.
Citing a report by The Block on September 7, 2026, expectations for a Federal Reserve (the Fed) rate hike increased again after the U.S. jobs report showed the addition of 162,000 jobs in August.
The shift in expectations also pushed up U.S. Treasury yields and became one of the factors being monitored by risk asset markets, including crypto.
“The current movements in Bitcoin and Ethereum show that the market remains quite dynamic. Weekly gains do not necessarily eliminate the potential for short-term volatility. Investors need to pay close attention to various factors that may affect the market before making decisions,” said Bittime Chief Operating Officer, Ryan Lymn.
Investors Need to Monitor Market Volatility
Crypto asset price movements can be influenced by various factors, ranging from macroeconomic conditions and monetary policy to geopolitical developments and market sentiment. Therefore, short-term price changes need to be viewed within a broader context.
Understanding market conditions is also an important part of making investment decisions. Investors need to consider their investment objectives, risk tolerance, and market conditions before making decisions.
“The crypto asset market has volatility characteristics that investors need to understand. Short-term price movements can change as economic data and global sentiment emerge. Therefore, it is important for investors to conduct comprehensive assessments and align their decisions with their risk profiles,” Ryan said.
