Bittime Secures the First Futures Trading License Under OJK's Crypto Regulatory Era

Bittime, a Digital Financial Asset Trader (PAKD) registered with and supervised by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), will officially launch its digital financial asset derivatives trading service on July 15, 2026.

The launch follows Bittime's successful approval from PT Central Finansial X (CFX), making it the first digital financial asset trader to receive a derivatives trading license through a licensing process conducted entirely under OJK's regulatory framework.

The "first" designation refers specifically to the licensing process, which has been carried out from the outset under OJK's supervision. As is well known, the regulation and supervision of crypto assets officially transitioned from Indonesia's Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti) to OJK on January 10, 2025.

With this launch, Bittime now offers a comprehensive 3-in-1 crypto investment portfolio, consisting of Spot, Staking, and Futures. Together, these services provide Indonesians with more ways to participate in the crypto market while reinforcing Bittime's position as a gateway to global digital assets for Indonesian investors.

CFX Supports the Development of Indonesia's Digital Financial Asset Market

PT Central Finansial X (CFX) Director Lukas Lauw said the launch of digital financial asset derivatives trading marks a strategic step toward deepening the market and expanding the industry's use cases in Indonesia. As the country's first licensed crypto asset exchange, CFX continues to encourage product innovation that strengthens the digital asset ecosystem while ensuring it remains fully aligned with the applicable regulatory and supervisory framework.

"Derivative instruments play an important role in market development by providing consumers with more comprehensive risk management and investment strategy options. We welcome this innovation from our exchange member and hope Bittime's launch of digital asset derivatives trading will help drive greater domestic adoption of derivatives. At the same time, strong governance, market integrity, and consumer protection must remain our top priorities," Lukas said.

Bittime Expands Investment Opportunities for Indonesians

Ryan Lymn, Chief Operating Officer of Bittime, said the launch of the company's digital financial asset derivatives trading service marks a strategic step in expanding Bittime's investment offerings while meeting the growing demand for a regulated futures trading platform in Indonesia.

"As a Digital Financial Asset Trader licensed and supervised by OJK, we aim to provide a futures trading platform that is secure, compliant, and competitive. By bringing together Spot, Staking, and Futures within a single platform, Bittime is providing Indonesians with more ways to invest in the crypto market," said Ryan.

Ryan added that the initiative also strengthens Bittime's positioning as Indonesia's gateway to global assets, offering users broader investment opportunities through one regulated investment ecosystem.

At launch, Bittime Futures offers 49 popular crypto trading pairs. Users can open both long and short positions, utilize leverage of up to 25x, and choose between Cross Margin and Isolated Margin based on their preferred trading strategy and risk management approach.

As part of its commitment to consumer protection, all users are required to complete a knowledge test before accessing the futures trading feature. Bittime also provides educational materials to help users understand the characteristics and risks of digital financial asset derivatives before they begin trading.

"With the number of digital financial asset and crypto asset consumers reaching 22.4 million, we believe demand for more diverse digital investment products will continue to grow. Bittime will continue introducing innovations built on the principles of regulatory compliance, investor education, and consumer protection, enabling more Indonesians to invest with confidence," Ryan added.

A Positive Outlook for Digital Asset Derivatives Trading

Crypto influencer Kimiko believes Bittime's launch of digital financial asset derivatives trading is a positive development for Indonesia's trading community, many of whom have traditionally relied on overseas platforms for derivatives trading.

"Many Indonesian traders have turned to overseas platforms because derivatives products have been available there for much longer. As Indonesia's regulatory framework continues to evolve and regulated futures trading becomes more widely available, I believe more traders will begin considering domestic platforms," said Kimiko.

According to Kimiko, greater regulatory clarity, a wider range of investment products, and improving investor literacy will be key drivers of Indonesia's digital financial asset derivatives market in the coming years. She believes platforms such as Bittime, which prioritize investor education and regulatory compliance, will strengthen public trust while supporting the development of a healthier and more sustainable digital financial asset ecosystem.

Through this launch, Bittime reaffirms its commitment as an OJK-licensed and supervised Digital Financial Asset Trader to continue delivering innovation in line with Indonesia's evolving regulatory framework, expand access to secure and transparent digital investment products, and contribute to the growth of a stronger, more trusted, and sustainable digital financial asset ecosystem.
